Capabilities

A capability is something a user can do on your product. "Create a survey," "Invite team members," "Configure notifications." Floe generates capabilities automatically by combining what it learned from your content and product screens.

Why capabilities matter

Capabilities are what the AI agent uses to decide what to show during a demo or how to help during onboarding. When a prospect says "I need to set up engagement surveys," the agent matches that to a capability and knows which screens to navigate to, what steps are involved, and what to say about it.

Without capabilities, the agent would be navigating blind. With them, it has a structured understanding of your product that maps user intent to product actions.

Generating capabilities

  1. Make sure you've run ingestion and exploration first
  2. Go to the Capabilities tab in your site
  3. Click Generate

Floe analyzes your content and screens together, then produces a list of capabilities. Each one describes:

  • What it is: A clear description of the user action
  • Where it happens: Which screens are involved
  • How complex it is: Simple, moderate, or complex
  • What the outcome looks like: What the user achieves

Reviewing capabilities

After generation, review the list in the dashboard. Capabilities are grouped by category (e.g., "User Management," "Settings," "Reporting"). You can see how many are linked to API endpoints and forms.

If something is missing or inaccurate, you can regenerate after adding more content or re-running exploration.

How the agent uses capabilities

During a personalized demo, the agent matches what the prospect is asking about to the relevant capability. During onboarding, capabilities define the setup tasks the agent can execute. During support, they help the agent understand what the user is trying to do and navigate to the right place.

Can I manually add or edit capabilities? Capabilities are generated automatically. The best way to improve them is to improve the input: add more detailed documentation and ensure exploration covers all your product's screens.

How many capabilities will Floe generate? It depends on your product's complexity. A simple tool might have 10-15. A full platform could have 50+.

Do capabilities update when I add new content? You'll need to click Generate again after adding new content or re-running exploration. Floe merges new capabilities with existing ones.
