Frequently Asked Questions
Getting started
How long does setup take? About 15 minutes for the basic setup. Create a site, add your content sources, run exploration, and generate capabilities. The Quickstart walks through it.
Do I need engineering resources? No. Floe handles everything via demo automation. For deeper embeds with the Browser SDK: one script tag, which takes about 30 seconds to add.
What if my product is complex? Floe works better with complex products. The more screens, workflows, and features you have, the more value the agent provides by tailoring the walkthrough to the specific prospect on the call.
The AI agent
How does the agent know my product? You feed Floe your documentation, knowledge base, and videos through ingestion. Floe also navigates your product directly through exploration. Together, this gives the agent deep product understanding.
Can the agent handle questions it wasn't trained on? The agent is grounded in your content. If someone asks about a feature you haven't documented, the agent will acknowledge that honestly rather than making something up. Better to say "I don't have details on that, let me connect you with the team" than to hallucinate.
Does the agent follow a script? No. Every conversation is dynamic. The agent adapts to what the user asks, what they seem interested in, and what they're trying to accomplish. No two demos or onboarding sessions are the same.
What languages does the agent support? The agent can converse in multiple languages. It detects the user's language and adapts.
Demo agent
Can I watch a demo the agent runs? Yes. Every demo session is recorded with full transcript and screen state. You can replay any session in the dashboard.
What if the prospect asks something unexpected? The agent handles tangent questions naturally. If someone asks "what about your pricing?" in the middle of a feature walkthrough, the agent answers and returns to the demo. If it genuinely can't answer, it offers to connect them with your team.
Do prospects know they're talking to AI? Yes. Transparency is important. The agent introduces itself as an AI assistant. In our experience, prospects care more about getting a good demo on their schedule than whether the presenter is human.
Website agent (Ask Floe)
Can Floe answer questions before starting a demo? Yes. The Ask Floe website agent is a top-of-funnel chat that sits on your marketing site and answers visitor questions — grounded in your product content — before anyone commits to a full demo.
Does it show contextual nudges as I scroll? Yes. Nudges are page-scoped and section-aware: as a visitor reads a page, the agent can surface a short prompt tied to what's on screen. You control the copy and can turn any page's nudge off from the dashboard.
Can it hand off to a live demo in place? Yes. When a visitor asks to see the product, the same session transitions into a live demo — the agent opens your real product in a driven browser and the chat widens into a demo. No new tab, no form, no scheduling.
Is the website agent a separate product from the demo agent? No. They're two phases of one agent on one session, sharing the same product knowledge. The website agent handles the top-of-funnel Q&A; when the visitor is ready it becomes the demo agent.
Do visitors have to talk to use it? No. The chat opens muted, so a visitor can type their questions. Voice is available if they'd rather talk — they can unmute anytime.
Onboarding agent
Does the agent change my product's UI? No. The agent overlays on top of your product. Your UI stays exactly the same. The overlay handles the conversation and directs the user's attention.
What happens if the agent makes a mistake? The agent works within your product's existing UI and validation. If it tries to submit invalid data, your product's own error handling catches it. The agent acknowledges the issue and tries a different approach.
Can I control which flows the agent automates? Yes. The capabilities system lets you see what the agent can do. You control what content is ingested and which parts of your product are explored.
Security and privacy
Does Floe store my product's data? Floe processes your public documentation and navigates your product's UI. It does not access your database or store your users' data outside of session recordings (transcripts and screen state).
Is Floe SOC2 compliant? Our architecture is SOC2-ready (certification in progress). Enterprise customers can request our current security documentation.
Can I restrict what the agent can access? Yes. Site settings control exploration depth and API execution permissions. You decide which parts of your product the agent can navigate and what actions it can take.
What about GDPR? Session recordings are retained for 90 days by default. Users can request data deletion. Voice recording requires consent, configurable through the SDK.
Pricing
How does pricing work? Pricing is tailored to your demo volume, not a fixed sticker number. Each demo runs up to 15 minutes on your real product. No setup fee, live in 48 hours, no engineering. Reach out and we'll tailor a plan to what you're running.
Is there a free trial? There's no separate free trial — we get Floe live on your real product, and you see the conversion difference on the next inbound cohort, not next quarter.
Technical
Does Floe work with single-page applications? Yes. Floe handles JavaScript-heavy applications and SPAs.
What browsers does the overlay support? Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop. Mobile support is on the roadmap.
Does Floe add latency to my product? The overlay loads asynchronously and does not block your product's rendering. Users won't notice any performance difference.
Can I style the overlay to match my brand? The overlay adapts to light and dark themes. Custom branding options are available on enterprise plans.
