AI demo agent questions

Does an AI demo agent just give canned answers?

Short answer: It depends on the kind of agent. Agents built on captured tours answer around steps someone recorded in advance. Agents that operate the real product decide what to show and say from the prospect's question, your content and the screen in front of them, so no two demos are the same.

Three kinds of AI demo agent, three kinds of answer

Captured demos. Agents such as Storylane RepX and Supademo's AI demo agent build on interactive demos captured from your product. They answer questions around a tour someone recorded in advance: consistent and on-message, but limited to what was captured.

A sandbox or prepared data. Docket runs a live sandbox of your product, and Consensus's Saleo agent injects demo data into your native product. The product is live, but the environment is prepared for the demo.

The real product. Agents such as Floe, Karumi and Rayko operate your live product and navigate to whatever the prospect asks about, so the path through the demo changes with each prospect.

Every group uses a language model to talk, so none of them reads a fixed script word for word. The difference is how far a demo can go beyond what was prepared. The full list of AI demo agents sorts every vendor into these groups.

What a demo that is not scripted should do

Answer in the prospect's terms. Respond to the question asked, from your own content, rather than steering back to a prepared line.

Go where the prospect asks. Open the part of the product the prospect wants to see, not only the next stop on a tour.

Handle an interruption. Stop, answer the new question, and pick the thread back up.

Fit the depth to the prospect. A quick overview for one buyer, a close look at one workflow for another.

How to test a vendor

Ask the vendor to run the agent on your product, not theirs, and try four things: ask to see a screen that is off the obvious path, interrupt it mid-sentence with a different question, ask something your docs answer but a tour would not, and ask the same question twice in different words. A scripted agent shows its edges quickly. Interactive demo vs. AI demo agent covers the two approaches in more depth.

In Floe

Floe does not follow a script. It answers from your documentation, knowledge base and the Reference Guides your team writes, and navigates your real product to what the prospect asks about, within the parts of the product your live guides cover.

You shape how it sounds rather than what it recites: a persona preset or a custom tone, up to eight qualification questions it weaves into the demo, and the language and voice. See Demo Agent Customization.

Related questions

Do AI demo agents follow a script?
Not word for word, because they use a language model to talk. Agents built on captured tours stay close to the steps someone recorded, while agents that operate the real product decide what to show from each prospect's questions.
What is the difference between an interactive demo and an AI demo agent?
An interactive demo is a captured, click-through tour the prospect drives. An AI demo agent talks with the prospect and shows the product in response, either from captured demos or by operating the real product.
How can I tell if an AI demo agent is scripted?
Run it on your own product, ask for a screen off the obvious path, interrupt it with a different question, and ask something your docs answer but a tour would not. A scripted agent steers back to its prepared steps.
